How to Build A Chicken Coop with Lifting Egg Hatch

Exploring the design, construction, and opening of a DIY Chicken Coop suitable for a backyard flock of up to ~8 chooks.
As we brought chickens into our family, we wanted to provide them with a comfortable, secure, and safe place to rest and provide us with eggs. We researched other plans / concepts, and drafted our own structure to suit our needs, and encourage egg-laying.

Since we filmed this video, we have found the open mesh on the side opposite door turned out to be to vulnerable to wind and sweeping rains, so we have since further enclosed this portion of the coop.
Additionally, we have removed the pine bedding in favor of a less-allergenic ‘Pelletized’ sawdust Bedding, which the chickens prefer (as do we) for its moisture-absorption, smell, and functionality.
We will be doing a 2-3 month progress update to further clarify the daily use, how we have mounted feed systems, and how we retrieve our eggs.

Hopefully, this will help you create a new home for your chickens.
